One of the things that will surely frustrate any makeup wearer is when your lipstick starts to fade quicker than you expect. You end up having to either excuse yourself in order to go and reapply your makeup. This is something that you will want to try and prevent so here are a few hints and tips that you could try they may just solve the problem and make your lipstick application last a little bit longer.
Make sure that your lips are free from any dead skin cells. You can exfoliate your lips by gently brushing them or just using a tissue that dipped in warm water. This way, all the dead skin can be removed, and your lips will look plumper. This provides a better foundation for your lipstick.
Next thing that you can do is to use a lip liner that has a neutral shade. This can be considered as your lip’s first layer that would help in making the color last for a long time. It will serve as the base of your lipstick that will help it to stay on longer.
The next step is to apply the color of the lipstick that you want to use. Some people believe that it is advisable to use a lipstick that can provide you with a matte texture, if you are looking for a longer lasting result. However, you can choose the shade and texture that would make you happy.
After you have fully applied your lipstick, blot it by using a tissue to remove excess color. You should them apply a second layer of lipstick and once again, blot it with a tissue to remove any excess. It may seem strange to add lipstick and then wipe if off with a tissue, but this method ensures a balanced buildup of color, which will last longer than applying one thick heavy layer in one go.
The last step is to pat your lips with loose powder. Do this by using a good quality make up brush. The excess powder can be removed with the use of a tissue, in the same way as you removed the excess lipstick previously. If you are using a glossy lipstick, then you will want to leave this step out. Otherwise, the powder will leave a cakey or cracked look on your lips, which will not only look unattractive, but will also feel unpleasant.
By taking the time to use these beauty hints and tips, you can help your lipstick last for a long time so that you do not have to worry about reapplying time and time again.
