SCHEDULE TIME OFF
- Daily: How do you begin your day? Mornings are a great time to reflect through a meditation or prayer (if you are spiritual/religious). Anything that keeps you grounded and sane. You will have days where you feel hurried, so take the time to slow down a bit and take care of you. Read a good book, definitely turn off the media/news and make a list of gratitude. Your day will no doubt be hurried—slow it down a bit and take care of yourself. Read some good material, turn off the news, and maybe invest in a gratitude journal.
- Weekly: I think that taking a day to rest is so important, whatever that may be in your schedule, make it happen. This week I decided to not do laundry on Saturday, something that I tend to do religiously, but not this past week, I just wanted to binge watch Romcom movies and veg on the couch. Rest helps to regenerate your mind, body and spirit. Consider taking one day a week off, with no work and no house chores.
- Monthly: Try taking one weekend off a month. Whether you choose to do a little get-away or a staycation, one weekend off a month is a good practice for self-care.
